Pastor Ruth Ollison - training disciples who train disciples!
A media personality at heart, Ruth Allen Ollison
dedicated much of her professional career to radio and television, showing
renowned strengths in news reporting, anchoring and management. Her expertise in media enhanced many markets
including Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Washington D.C. One of her favorite roles
included starting up the news department at an NBC affiliate in Tyler, TX --
not far from her rural roots in the northeast Texas community of Piney.
After two decades in the broadcasting industry, Ollison
sought to transform the conditions that she had covered for so long as a
journalist. She landed in inner city Houston, where she bought a crack house in
one of the most notorious areas of the city and started a ministry while
earning a Master's Degree in Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary and Doctorate of Ministry (Spirituality and Transforming Community)
from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.
Currently, she
manages several professional and personal commitments. She is an adjunct professor at Houston
Baptist University, Houston Graduate School of Theology and B.H. Carroll
Theological Institute. She pastors
Beulah Land Community Church. She manages Mt. Eden Properties, a real estate
investment firm, which enabled her to become financially prosperous. And, most
importantly, Pastor Ruth enjoys her distinguished roles as wife to Quincy and
mother to Jacob.
